Fitch changed forecasts for gold, copper and aluminum

Fitch expects gold and copper prices to rise this year. Aluminum, in its opinion, will become cheaper, and the cost of zinc will remain at the same level of $2500, reports "Prime".

This year the average price of gold, according to the rating agency, will be $1900, which is $100 higher than the previous estimate. Next year it is expected to be at a similar level, which is $200 higher than the earlier forecast. This is due to the rising geopolitical risk premium on the precious metal, traditionally viewed by investors as a safe-haven asset.

The agency expects copper prices to rise over the next two years amid supply issues and lower production. This year it will average $8400 per ton against $8300 in the earlier forecast, next year - $8000.

Aluminum will become cheaper this year, the agency said - its average cost has been lowered to $2300 from $2350. This is due to the fact that quotations have been falling since the beginning of the year, but subsequently their gradual recovery is forecasted against the background of increasing global demand.
