Cargo transportation through the Suez Canal has become 9 times more expensive

The cost of cargo transportation through the Suez Canal to the Red Sea ports has risen 9 times - up to $6.8 thousand per container. Before the riots organized in the area by the Hussites, it was $750. In addition, the price of bunker fuel and services for insurance of ships have risen. This was reported by the head of the Suez Canal Authority Osama Rabia, whose words are reported by the agency "Prime".

The attacks by the Houthis in the Red Sea are linked to the military conflict between them and Israel and, they claim, are aimed at Israeli ships. The aim is to support Palestinians attacked by Israel in the Gaza Strip. The free movement of ships is not threatened by them, the group's leaders emphasized.

The Islamic countries have repeatedly said that if the Americans support Israel's actions, the conflict will engulf the entire region. However, this has not stopped the United States, which since January, together with Great Britain, has been bombing the facilities of the Houthis on the grounds that the latter pose a threat to the free movement of ships in the Red Sea.
